Skagen
In our neighborhood, which we call Skagen, we have drawn inspiration from the maritime history and the connection between Skagen and Gothenburg and the trade relations between Denmark and Sweden. Skagen, located on the northern tip of Jutland in Denmark, is an important port city and a famous fishing village with a long tradition of shipping and fishing. Its geographical location at the entrance to the Skagerrak and Kattegat has made it a strategic location for trade and transportation.
Gothenburg, on the other hand, is a major port city and Sweden's second largest city. Gothenburg has historically had strong links with Denmark and the rest of the world through trade and shipping. The boat traffic between Gothenburg and Skagen has been an important sea route for transporting goods and passengers between the two countries.
This connection between Skagen and Gothenburg as trading and shipping destinations has contributed to the development of cultural and economic ties between the regions. Both Skagen and Gothenburg have been influenced and enriched by maritime history and the exchange of goods, ideas and people across the sea, which is why we chose the name Skagen.
