Services and shops

Within walking distance or a short bus ride is Backaplan, with over 120 shops, including a large gorcery store, cafés, a health food store, a liquor store, a pharmacy and hairdressers.

Communications

The nearest bus stop is Frihamnsporten, about 500 metres away, with connections to the city centre, Chalmers and Lindholmen. Travel time is 4 minutes to Central Station and Nordstan. Nearby are also the interchanges Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen and Vågmästareplatsen with trams and buses.

From Kvillepiren, a pedestrian and bicycle path leads all the way to the city centre.

24 SJU Supermarkets

At the entrance to the Waterfront Cabins you will find an unmanned grocery store with a large selection and super easy to shop in. All you need is BankID and a bank card or Swish.

Restaurants & cafés

A short walk to Kvilletorget or a quick bus ride to the city center will give you access to a wide range of restaurants and neighbourhood taverns. Backaplan is within walking distance or a few minutes' bus ride and here, in addition to 120 shops, you will find more restaurants and cafés.

Avenyn

Avenyn is Gothenburg's number one boulevard. Avenyn is home to everything from shopping to entertainment and culture, as well as restaurants and salons. You can get there in 11 minutes.

Swimming & swimming practice

If you like to swim, Jubileumsparken offers the Public Baths, which is a pool in the river along Kvillepiren. Here you can swim, relax on the jetty, and do swimming exercises. The pool is about 20 metres long, 8 metres wide and 1.8 metres deep. As part of Jubileumsparken's project, a larger harbour bath will also be developed at the Public Baths.

Sauna

The public sauna in Jubileumsparken is a popular and appreciated place. It is a spectacular building made of recycled materials with a patinated sheet metal façade and changing rooms constructed from 12,000 glass bottles. The sauna was built in 2014 by Gothenburg residents together with architects from Raumblabor Berlin. Normally the sauna is open all year round, but unfortunately closed at the moment due to construction and renovation.

Sailing & Canoeing

During the summer season, sailing school is organised in Jubileumsparken, starting from the jetty in Kvillepiren. Sailing takes place in the harbour basin with access dinghies. Everyone is welcome to join in, regardless of previous experience or ability. The sailing school is available in various forms and is free of charge. It is also possible to paddle a canoe from the pier in Kvillepiren. Swimming ability is required and one person in the boat must be at least 18 years old.

Padel

Padel Arena Frihamnen welcomes both beginners and experienced players with five courts, including a Center Court with grandstand. As a resident of Waterfront Cabins, and neighbour to the arena, you are offered to play at a reduced rate.

Nature area

The area is close to many beautiful green areas and parks that offer relaxation and recreation, such as Hisingsparken, the Ramberget lookout and Jubileumsparken. For a longer excursion, Gothenburg's beautiful archipelago is within easy reach.

Sea

Kvillepiren is located in the inlet of Gothenburg harbour, with the sea as the closest neighbour to your studio. Gothenburg's beautiful archipelago and beaches are within easy reach, and nearby Jubileumsparken has a seasonal outdoor pool for sunbathing and swimming.

Cultivation

For those with green fingers, there are growing boxes at Kvillepiren where you can grow your own vegetables and other edibles.
