Inspired by the harbor of Gothenburg, we have created a vibrant neighborhood with a sheltered and lush residential courtyard that opens up to the north. The choice of materials and colors draws inspiration from the harbour environment, where the wooden volumes meet dark brown sheet metal details and a distinctive orange colour on the gables and lift towers.
The varied heights, widths and directions of the buildings give the neighborhood a uniform character. Our lift towers stand out as colorful identity builders.
The courtyard is designed with inspiration from Frihamnen, with a gradient of material roughness that creates a visual, tactile and sound experience. Smaller paved areas offer entrance squares with planters for trees and seating.
The lush courtyard invites social activities such as boules and barbecues, with a larger wooden deck as a natural gathering point for communal dining and outdoor activities whatever the weather. Raised planters separate the green space from an outer zone for communication and bicycle parking.
Our carefully selected plants thrive in the windy and dry environment, creating easy-to-maintain green spaces reminiscent of the pristine green areas of Free Harbour.
